         The new Secretary of State for Education Kenneth Baker made a flying visit to Freshbrook
   School in July. He was conductedon a tour by Mrs. Barker, Headteacher, and officials from the
   County Council. Mr. Baker is pictured here with Andrea Lowe who explained the work she was
   doing doing on a computer.
         On arrival, Mr. Baker's car swept by a group of angryresidents at the school gates. They
   wanted to express their concern at the size of the school and the need for permanent buildings.
         Mr. Baker, when leaving, said he was "very impressed" by the work of the children and
   the dedication of the staff at Freshbrook School, but he acknowledged that it was the largest
   he had ever seen.
