WESTLEA 7
Dancing to drums
Thirty youngsters from Westlea School had the time of their lives in mid-
January practicising and performing with the Kokuma Arts group at the
Wyvern Theatre.
For a whole week the school hail pulsated with Afro-Caribbean
rhythms as each class had a chance to dance to the drums of Richard
Clarke with dance instruction from Donna Old field of Kokuma Arts.
One class of second year juniors spent two hours a day for a week
practising a dance that was performed with the 10 members of Kokuma
Arts at the Wyvern on 19 and 20 January.
Below: Four nine year old boys who took part describe their dance week.
