               Stalls and talent needed for famous

                         railway heritage fete
             The Children’s Fete, organised by Swindon’s New Mechanics’ Trust, takes
             place on Saturday 17 July in the GWR Park, Faringdon Road.
               It will include all the treats you would expect from Swindon’s traditional
             summer event, which fi rst took place in 1866 and there are stalls avail-
             able to children’s charities and green groups, as well as crafts people.
               Fancy dress on the theme of ‘Wonderland’ will be judged in categories
             under 11 and 11 to 15 years.
               Organisers want to hear from young bands/singers/musicians inter-
             ested in performing on stage during the day and into the evening.
