On World Book Day in March, staff
at Tregoze Primary School revived
a tradition from 20 years ago after
caretaker Peter Cook found a
scrapbook of book week activity
including pictures of staff dressing
up as characters and putting on a
show for the children.
Reading recovery teacher Jane
Keen taught at Tregoze in 1992
and was one of the cast for the first
shows. On 22 February she narrated
the Wizard of Oz with staff playing
the parts, including headteacher
Helen Swanson in the lead role of
Dorothy.
Right a picture from the Tregoze
1992 scrapbook. Can you recognise
yourself?
Below, children at Brook Field Pri-
mary School put a lot of thought
into dressing up as their favourite
characters for World Book Day with
headteacher Mel Sancto again sur-
passing all as the Queen of Hearts.
