ATBShop Skate Warehouse will be hosting the extreme sports event the” Urban Rider Games” on Friday 14 April for the third year running.

This year the event promises to be bigger and better than ever before. The store have sold well over two thirds of entry places, and expect to sell many more over the following days during the build-up to the event on Good Friday.

The focal point of the community event is to raise awareness for better free facilities in and around Swindon – especially protecting the Oasis Skate Park which, according to the staff at ATB, is under siege from developers at present.

On the day a range of celebrity judges will be on site for the 10 different categories from different sporting backgrounds, including Jordan Clarke currently ranked World No1. Scooter Champion for the second year running and star of the Nitro Circus.

Also present will be Lewis Williams, European Scooter Champion sponsored by Crisp Scooters. He will be flying back from Dubai especially for the event, Matt Brind, four times world Mountainboard Champion and also eight times UK Champion, and star of Travis Pastrana's Nitro Circus World Tour and James Threlfall, a Skater sponsored by Red Bull, Element Skateboards, MiniRig and Animal clothing. He is well known as “one of the country’s most progressive skaters”.

The response from ATBShop's sponsors to the not for profit event this year has exceeded wildest expectations with big brands such as Jelly Belly and GoPro donating thousands of pounds worth of prizes. GoPro incidentally will be there on the day running demos and workshops at the games for all to take part in.

ATBShop have also received huge support from the local business community with generous support from Hills Waste Solutions and local shops such as the Vans store in the Outlet Village. The prize fund is currently standing at well over £3000.

The event will start at midday with many fun activities for all the family. Entry is free for spectators and registration for the competition will be open up to, and including the event day. Anyone can enter the event as there will be beginner categories right up to pro categories.

There will be opportunities for photos with our judges and autographs, demos from our sponsors and freebies!
