Charity

This Christmas is set to be a different one for us, and for many, times will be tough financially and emotionally. During times when the pursestrings are tighter than ever, many will be looking at ways to save on their Christmas shopping, as well as those everyday basics and essentials. However, in addition to looking after our own pennies, this year it’s more important than ever to give something back.

Bath based website My Favourite Voucher Codes know this, which is why in addition to helping their users save money on their shopping, they donate 20% of their profits to charity each month.

The charity that benefits from this monthly donation is decided by visitors to the site, who can cast their vote for free while also taking advantage of the discounts and offers available. The site features a new line-up of different charities every month, supporting a wide array of organisations. Featuring everything from small non-profit organisations to larger national charities, their monthly poll has supported over 130 different charities over the years, raising over £59,000 for good causes since their launch in 2012. This December, not only can you save money on your Christmas gifts and other festive essentials, you can also support a line-up of amazing charities, and you can find out more about this month’s partners below.

Above & Beyond

Bristol based charity Above & Beyond raises money for hospitals within the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This helps to improve and enhance patient care, as well as supporting patients’ families and the hard-working staff throughout the trust. Their fundraising efforts have helped to create more welcoming and relaxing environments for patients, provide state of the art equipment and support specialist training for staff. Additionally, the charity fund innovative medical research, working towards the treatments of the future. This year, Above & Beyond have been working harder than ever to support Bristol City Centre hospitals as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. While they still work to deliver the best in patient care, they have also been supporting the wellbeing of NHS staff and funding research into the effects of Covid-19. Ultimately, the charity’s goal is to go above and beyond the means of what the NHS can provide.

North West Cancer Research

North West Cancer Research (NWCR) work to tackle the forms of cancer that are most prevalent in the North Wales and North West regions. People living in the North West are 25% more likely to receive a cancer diagnosis than anywhere else in the UK, which is why NWCR funds life saving research to help better understand and treat the most common cancers in the region. The charity have been at the forefront of world class research for over 70 years, and since 2000 have invested over £40 million to support the very best in cancer research. Additionally, the charity work to educate and raise awareness of cancer through their community outreach, with the aim of changing perceptions, encouraging early diagnosis and inspiring future generations of researchers.
