A new business networking and referral group has got off on the right track by calling itself Steam and launching in Swindon.

Steam, a new chapter of international organisation BNI, meets on Fridays at The Village Hotel and already has more than 20 members, who are building strong relationships and referring business to one another. Its first meeting in 2020 will be January 10.

“We are thrilled to have launched the new Steam BNI chapter in Swindon and our members are already gelling as a group and passing referrals between them. BNI is a proven model to help business people develop and grow their organisations,” said Pam Jones, President of Steam BNI, who runs Eight Interactive, which creates a range of video and digital content for businesses. “We are looking to grow our membership and welcome visitors who want to come along and find out what it is all about.”

Steam BNI’s meetings run from 10-11.30am on Fridays, followed by lunch, and visitors are welcome, with no obligation to apply to become a member. It is the only BNI chapter in the area to meet mid-morning, with the other chapters meeting for breakfast.

Nick Forgham, Executive Director for Berkshire and Wiltshire BNI, said: “We are delighted to welcome the members of Steam BNI to the organisation. Each week, in thousands of communities across the globe, BNI members meet with other trusted business leaders to build and nurture lasting relationships and pass qualified business referrals. In 2018, BNI members in the UK generated more than £523 million worth of business for each other.”
