The energetic efforts of the team from Newmedica Swindon have seen more than £2,000 split between four charities close to their hearts.
Staff from the eye care clinic completed a muddy obstacle course in this year’s inauguralWolf Run event to raise much-needed funds for Sight Support West of England, Vision Care,Insight Gloucestershire, and Sunflower Suicide Support.
The Spring Wolf run is the first of an annual trilogy of events based near Leamington Spa, with hundreds of people collecting money for good causes.
Jug Singh, operations director at the clinic, said: “It was amazing to be part of this incredible event.
"There were so many people putting their bodies and their pride on the line, always with a smile on their face.
“We were desperate to take part this year to raise funds for these four fantastic charities who do so much to help so many people.
“Sight is always the sense that people say they’d least like to be without, so the more we can all do for the likes of Sight Support West of England, Vision Care and Insight Gloucestershire, the better.
“In addition, we wanted to raise money for a fourth charity, Sunflower Suicide Support, which provides support for people who have been touched by the profound pain of suicide."
The Newmedica clinic covers areas such as Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett Chippenham, Marlborough, and the surrounding area, providing care for NHS and private patients, while also assisting the NHS in reducing its waiting lists.
It is owned and led by consultant ophthalmologists Mr Nigel Kirkpatrick, Mr Adam Ross, Mr Fadi Alkherdahji and Mr Antonis Kaintatzis, with and operations director Jug Singh.
