Team Prospect raises more than £19,000 at the Swindon Half Marathon, with comedian Ivo Graham among those taking on the 13.1-mile challenge.
A total of 94 runners pulled on their trainers for #TeamProspect at this year’s event, with supporters helping Prospect Hospice continue providing care and support to local people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Ivo Graham stood out from the crowd as he completed the half marathon in an impressive one hour 57 minutes while dressed in a pig costume.
Ivo took on the challenge to raise funds for both Prospect Hospice and The Harbour Project, helping two local charities make a difference in the community.
Prospect Hospice was the chosen charity for the Swindon Half Marathon for the second year running, and supporters turned out in force to run, volunteer and cheer on Team Prospect throughout the day.
Ben Lee, Head of Community Fundraising at Prospect Hospice, said: “What an incredible day! Seeing 94 people take on the Swindon Half Marathon as part of Team Prospect was really special, and we’re so grateful to every single person who ran, fundraised, volunteered or cheered from the sidelines.
“To have already raised more than £19,000 is fantastic. Every pound will help us continue to provide vital care and support to local patients and their families.
"And, of course, a special mention has to go to Ivo. Running a half marathon is challenging enough without doing it dressed as a pig!”
The money raised will help Prospect Hospice continue delivering specialist end-of-life care and support to people across Swindon and the surrounding area.
Prospect Hospice thanks everyone who ran as part of Team Prospect, those who donated and supported the runners, the volunteers who helped on the day, and the organisers of the Swindon Half Marathon for once again choosing the hospice as their charity partner.
