WILTSHIRE Air Ambulance is looking for thrill seekers who want to take part in a skydive during its 30th birthday year.
The charity has places for 30 people to undertake a skydive on Sunday 31 May 2020 at Old Sarum Airfield, Salisbury.
Kenresa Stratford, events co-ordinator at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “We’d love our supporters to join us by taking a leap and helping Wiltshire Air Ambulance celebrate 30 years of flying and saving lives.
“You will be jumping in tandem with an experienced professional skydiver and getting a bird’s eye view of the dramatic scenery of Salisbury Plain.
“We rely on donations and need to raise £3.75 million a year to operate our lifesaving service.”
Entry is £50 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £395.
Jasmine Veratau, a teacher at Leehurst Swan School, Salisbury and who lives in the area, did a skydive for Wiltshire Air Ambulance last year. The school chose to support Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Jasmine volunteered to do the skydive.
She said: “A skydive had been on my bucket list for a while and I couldn’t think of a better charity to do the jump for. It was completely exhilarating. Having never skydived before, I expected myself to be a bundle of nerves. In truth, I felt nothing but excitement and loved every moment of the experience!
“In the build up to jumping I was taught in a small group what to expect, how to position my body and how to land. The professionals at Old Sarum Airfield were extremely friendly and they put your mind completely at ease.
“The skydive itself was an unbelievable feeling of weightlessness, combined with being totally unaware of how high you are and how fast you are moving. It was a surreal experience and one I will never forget.”
