Prospect Hospice has been announced as the charity of the year for the Swindon Half Marathon for the second consecutive year.

The race is set to take place on Sunday 27 September, and the hospice is inviting individuals, workplaces and community groups to apply for charity places and help raise vital funds for local hospice care.
The Swindon Half Marathon attracts hundreds of runners each year. The 13.1-mile race is suitable for runners of all abilities, from first-timers to seasoned athletes, and is known for its supportive atmosphere and scenic route.
As charity of the year, Prospect Hospice will be supporting runners with fundraising advice, resources and encouragement in the lead-up to race day.
Local businesses are also being encouraged to get involved by entering corporate teams as part of their wellbeing or community engagement initiatives.
Funds raised will support patients and families across Swindon and the surrounding area, helping to ensure compassionate care is available when it is needed most.
Ben Lee, Head of Community Fundraising at Prospect Hospice said: “We are delighted to be the Swindon Half Marathon’s charity of the year once again.
"Taking part in this much-loved local event is a fantastic way for individuals and teams to challenge themselves, while making a real difference for people in our community who rely on hospice care.”
Places for runners are available now, with participants encouraged to sign up early.
