This year’s annual Wrag Barn Charity Golf Day in Highworth, raised a record £14,652 for Hft, a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities to live their best life possible.
The annual fundraising event took place on 24 May and saw nearly 80 golfers enjoy an 18-hole course, a brunch put on by Wrag Barn Golf Club and an auction and raffle, all with the purpose of raising money for the learning disability charity.
The event, sponsored by Haines Watts Swindon, raised the highest amount in the golf day’s 34-year history.
The funds raised this year will go towards core funded projects including care matters, support practitioners and Hft’s friendship service, Luv2MeetU.
Established in 1962 by a group of visionary parents, Hft is a charity supporting more than 2,800 learning disabled adults in England and Wales. They provide personalised support, creating solutions for living independently and campaign for positive change.
Emma Macdonald, Community Fundraising Manager at Hft said: ““We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the 34th Wrag Barn Golf day, our sponsors Haines Watts and to Wrag Barn Golf Club for its unwavering support in aid of Hft.
“This incredible support helps create a future where learning disabled people can live the best life possible, in a kind and inclusive community.”
