Staff from the Educate Together Academy Trust have now taken possession of the new Abbey Farm Educate Together Primary School in Swindon.
The Trust's chosen contractor, Reds10 are said to have worked with the Department for Education's Free Schools Team to deliver the new school building during challenging times in the construction sector.
The building, which is net zero carbon, will be opening its doors to pupils for the first time on 5 September, as the school welcomes its first cohort of pre-school and reception class children.
Educate Together Academy Trust currently run four other schools across the Southwest, offering their ethical ‘Learn Together’ curriculum alongside the National Curriculum and Early Years Framework.
Nikki Buglass, Development Manager said: “After five years in the planning, it is fantastic to finally see the Abbey Farm ET school ready for action!
"We have experienced staff waiting and excited to get started in September. We really are grateful to the team at Reds10 and the Department for Education for this beautiful new learning space.”
Educate Together and the team at Abbey Farm ET Primary will also be hosting a number of school tours for interested parents and carers, throughout the autumn term.
Spaces can be booked via Eventbrite from 4 September. Details are available on the schools website at www.abbeyfarmet.org.uk.
