UTC Swindon: Transforming Lives Through Learning
For more than a decade, UTC Swindon has been offering young people across Swindon and the surrounding area a different approach to education.
As a specialist STEM-focused school and sixth form for students aged 14 to 19, UTC Swindon combines academic study with industry-relevant technical education, helping students develop the skills, confidence and experience needed for future careers.
Located in the heart of Swindon, UTC Swindon specialises in Engineering, Digital and Cyber Security, providing students with access to modern facilities, specialist equipment and a curriculum designed in partnership with employers.
Through its strong links with industry, students tackle real-world projects, gain meaningful work experience and develop the professional skills that employers and universities are seeking.
The school is proud of its mission to “Transform Lives Through Learning", creating an environment where students are encouraged to be curious, innovative and ambitious.
Whether joining in Year 10 or progressing into the sixth form, students benefit from a supportive community that combines high expectations with individual care and guidance.
Inspirational learning
Headteacher Hollie Taylor said: "At UTC Swindon, we believe education should inspire young people and prepare them for the opportunities of tomorrow. Our students benefit from a unique blend of academic and technical learning, supported by industry partnerships that bring learning to life.
"We are proud to see our students progress to leading universities, apprenticeships and exciting careers in STEM industries."
Sixth Form pathways
The sixth form offers a range of pathways, including A Levels, Engineering and Cyber Security programmes, enabling students to tailor their studies to their aspirations. Alongside their qualifications, students develop valuable employability skills and gain insight into future career opportunities through a high level of employer engagement and projects.
Industry Links
Current students frequently highlight the practical nature of learning and the opportunities available through employer partnerships.
One student said: "UTC Swindon has been the making of me. Getting to work alongside leading industry employers and study subjects I really enjoy in a friendly, supportive school has been such a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone."
Families interested in discovering more about UTC Swindon are invited to attend the school's next Open Event on Thursday 26 November.
