Kim Cypher and her Jazz Quartet are to play an intimate gig in aid of Friends of Angel's Orphanage, February 16, at Michael’s Church in Highworth.
Friends of Angel's Orphanage is a local charity based in Swindon, which raises funds to support children by providing education and housing in Nepal.
Angel's Orphanage is based in a remote village in Nepal founded and run by Angel, formerly Bikram Shahi. Dr Ian Matheson and his wife, Rosa, have since been supporting Angel's Orphanage, who take in lone and vulnerable children living in poverty, with medical support and fundraising since its founding in 1999.
Friends of Angel's Orphanage continue to raise funds to support children suffering from hunger and abandonment. For their latest fundraiser the charity will be hosting an evening of jazz with Kim Cypher and her Jazz Quartet at St Michael's Church, from 7.30pm, Highworth February 16.
Kim Cypher is a multi-instrumental artist and predominantly a saxophonist. Cypher also composes music as well as sings - one of her shows included a private event for the Prime Minister Theresa May last year.
Colin Gorrie, Producer Bristol Jazz & Blues Festival, said: Leading her band as both vocalist and saxophonist was exciting to watch and immediately won applause of the large audience.
"Kim’s energy as both a musician and performer does more than justice to the standards performed, and the songs she has composed fit beautifully with the arrangements that have been given to those standards.”
Tickets are £10, with further donations welcome, and all proceeds will go to Friends of Angel's Orphanage to further support Angel's Orphanage.
