Cotswold Airport has just been granted a licence to perform civil ceremonies aboard its Boeing 747 Party Plane and in the operational Control Tower - the only such venues in the world.

Brand new to the wedding venue circuit is the Cotswold Airport Wedding Collection, being launched this Winter. The Cotswold Airport Wedding Collection is a trio of totally unique venues that have just been granted a license to hold civil wedding ceremonies and naming ceremonies. The collection includes two world exclusives - the world's only licenced Boeing 747 party plane; and the world's only licensed operational Control Tower. Also in the Collection is AV8, Cotswold Airport's on-site restaurant positioned right next to the live runway. Cotswold Airport is a privately-owned airport where celebrities and many high-profile personalities fly in and out in luxury private jets and helicopters. Set in the heart of the trendy Cotswolds, the airport is a hidden gem, a destination for exclusive events as well as aviation. Head of Events at the airport, Jo Welch, said: "We are extremely excited about this new sector of our business. Cotswold Airport is an established popular general aviation airfield that has been here on site for almost 80 years. "Formerly known as RAF Kemble, the aerodrome started out as an RAF maintenance base, became home to the Red Arrows for many years, and was then bought privately by entrepreneur and ex RAF engineer, Ronan Harvey 15 years ago. "Ronan's daughter, Suzannah Harvey is the Group CEO and has driven the business to become what it is today - a thrilling place to visit with an on-site restaurant, a thriving general aviation community, and a wide variety of corporate and private events. "As Head of Events I want to capitalise on the uniqueness of this site and everything it has to offer. We do have a Boeing 747 that is stripped out and used for events, so the idea came about to get it licenced for civil ceremonies. As discussions went on, we also decided to licence the Control Tower. Both are the only venues of their kind in the world licenced in this way." The ultimate jet setting wedding venue where the sky is literally the limit and as Cotswold Airport is a working airport, wedding parties can even fly in or out for the special occasion.
