Haydon Wick Parish Council are inviting people to come along and join them on a free magical evening exploring the secret world of bats.

The event takes place at Mouldon Hill Country Park Car on Tuesday 29 July. Meet in the car park at 7:15pm for Batty’s Storytime. Get ready for adventure with spine-tingling bat tales from Swindon Story Shed. Perfect for getting little ones (and big ones!) excited for the hunt ahead.

At 8:00pm Bat Walk Expert Neil Pullen from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust will take the lead through the park with professional bat detectors as dusk falls. Bat enthusiasts can explore the rotary tree mound, wildflower meadows, and lake area - listening for the incredible sounds of bats in flight.

What to bring:

  • Sturdy shoes (uneven terrain)
  • Torch for after dark
  • iPhone users: download the free "Bat Detector by Phil Atkin" app to enhance your experience.

As darkness creeps in and bats take flight, you'll discover the amazing world of these nocturnal creatures right on your doorstep. From echolocation calls to feeding patterns - prepare to be amazed!

Completely free event - just turn up and join the adventure!
