Independent record store Sound Knowledge will be celebrating Record Store Day 2024 with a weekend of special events.

The Marlborough record shop will be open from 8am on Saturday 20 April, with hundreds of titles from this year's Record Store Day release list, which people can browse at https://recordstoreday.co.uk/rsd-list

A spokesperson for the store said: "Don't forget to let us know what you'll be hoping to find on the day. We can't reserve anything as per the rules, but it helps us to get our ordering right.

"Our vinyl floor finders will be on hand on the day to advise and assist with any lists you might bring with you, but you're also very welcome to enjoy a browse."

The team will be running a one-way system with the queue to the back door of the shop, accessible from Hyde Lane Car Park or up the steps in Hughenden Yard.

Following a break last year, the Record Store Day live event is back for 2024 on Sunday 21 April.

Taking place at St Peter's Church, Marlborough, between 2pm and 7pm, the free live music event is set to be the biggest yet.

Acts supporting the event and confirmed so far - with more to be announced - are:

MATT OWENS - a founder member of indie-folk stars Noah and the Whale, Matt has released a string of solo records that have caught the ear of the likes of Bob Harris and AMA UK. He's a fixture on the Bath live scene with his band The Delusional Vanity Project and is curator and organiser of the 7 Hills Fest, Americana Fest and The Songwriters Festival.

SUPALUNG - New project from acclaimed singer-songwriter Sam Brookes and multi-instrumentalist/producer Pete Josef

VOKA GENTLE - The experimental trio have wowed audiences on two previous visits and also supported The Flaming Lips at their Soft Bulletin anniversary London show.

BETTER HEAVEN - New Swindon quartet crafting atmospheric indie with vocals traded between singer-guitarists Declan Casey and Dakota Simpson.

The spokesperson for Sound Knowledge said: "We'll be running a merch stand for the featured artists (merch in the church, anyone?) and carrying a small selection of choice RSD leftovers, with much more in stock at the shop which will be open Sunday hours as normal."

Doors open at 1.30pm and the Cardinal Coffee Shop will be serving refreshments throughout.

Free wristbands are avaliable from the shop.
