Hindu Samaj Swindon will present an evening of local talent in its multicultural variety show entitled Unity in Diversity.
Hindu Samaj Swindon (HSS) (established in 1973) is the longest serving Hindu Community Charity organisation in Swindon, and its team say they are proud to present the Unity in Diversity Multicultural Variety show this March.
A spokesperson for the event said: "We have great performances to entertain you which include the Jazz and Tap dances by Swindon Academy of Dance, the popular Bollywood violinist - Jessica Crabtree, some Nach-Baliye’s Bollywood song and dance sparkle, folk dances and much more.
"Come and see for yourself - it’s an evening not to be missed!"
The show, which will take place on Saturday, 5 March, will be compered by BBC Gloucestershire presenter Manny Masih and tabla player Harki Popli.
Starting at 6.30pm, audiences will be entertained by three hours of song, dance, and instrumentation throughout the evening.
The HSS team say those of classical inclination will find enjoyment in the folk dances from across the breadth of India and Bangladesh. Performances will range from Kathak and Bharat-Natyam, to Garba and Odissi.
For those looking for a more European experience, the Mane sisters will be on piano showcasing, amongst other pieces, ‘The Hungarian Dance No. 5’ by Johannes Brahms. Individuals will also have the opportunity to enjoy the tabla (Indian drums) performances.
The HSS team adds that no show is complete without the beats of Bhangra dhol group. The music is said to 'keep the blood pumping.'
