    Yoga on the lawn will be held within the Church Garden of Avebury Manor

Members of the public are encouraged to enjoy Avebury's Manor, Henge and stone circles, and the Alexander Keiller Museum this Summer, alongside a programme of special events.

The National Trust team have announced its Avebury events schedule for May, June & July.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the following:

  • 'Sentinels of Stone’ exhibition by Tony Galuidi: 22 April - 11 June

An exhibition of 35 painting of standing stones, painted in acrylic on canvas, by Tony Galuidi, displayed in the atmospheric threshing barn.This event will run during Avebury's normal opening hours, and is free to attend.

  • In Stitches - women and needlecraft in Avebury Manor: 11 - May - 5 November
Explore the lives of some of Avebury Manor’s female residents through the lens of needlecraft. Attendees can find out more about the women of Aveburys’ historic crafts from Tudor times to the 1920s and the role they played, at Avebury and beyond, in this new exhibition. This event is free with normal admission.
  • ?Avebury Trust 10: 28 May - 4 June

?Members of the public can enjoy a challenging 10k trail run with stunning views across the wider Avebury landscape. Registration is from 8.30am at the Coach house (on Avebury high street, next to the Red Lion pub). The Trust10 run will begin at 9am and end at around 11am. Entry is free.

  • May Half Term Activities: 27 May - 4 June?
?Attendees can enjoy a family adventure around the gardens of Avebury Manor, with sensory activities. Learn about the pollinators that help turn the apple blossom the garden into delicious fruit. Prices are £2 per trail and £2 per craft pack.
  • Avebury landscape walk—Waden Hill: 10 June
?Visitors are invited to explore some of the Neolithic monuments which make up this ancient and intriguing landscape. The volunteer guide will help individuals to unlock the past by explaining the history of the landscape as they walk. The walk will run from 1.30pm - 4pm. Booking for this event is essential and tickets are £8 per person. More information at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/avebury
  • Relax with yoga on the lawn— Church Garden of Avebury Manor: 10, 17, 24 June & 1, 8, 15 July
?Attendees can relax in the stunning setting of Avebury Manor Garden as you take part in a rejuvenating outdoor yoga session with local instructors. This is suitable for beginners or experienced yoga lovers. The yoga sessions are priced at £12.50 per person, and booking is essential. 
  • An exhibition of work by William Stukeley: On from 24 June
?William Stukeley was an eighteenth-century antiquarian who had wide and varied interests, one of which was the study of prehistoric monuments. Images of his work will be on display in the Great Barn at Avebury, and this exhibition is free to enter. 
  • Glow worm walk at Figsbury Ring, near Salisbury: Friday 30 June & Friday 14 July
?Visitors may have wondered is a glow worm really a worm? Why do they shine? How can an insect produce light?Attendees to the Glow worm walk can learn the answers to these questions and more by joining the rangers for a nocturnal promenade and talk under the moon and stars at Figsbury Ring. The walk will run from 9.45pm - 11pm, and tickets are £8 per person.
