This year’s Armed Forces Day Swindon is happening on Saturday 22nd June 2019 at Faringdon Road Park, Swindon, from 11:00 – 17:00.
Celebrating the work of our Armed Forces and the dedication of our local military community, this day will be packed full of fun for all the family, for just a small entrance fee. There will be free entry for any military personnel or veterans.
The festivities will start at 11am with an official opening by the Mayor of Swindon and our patron Robert Buckland MP, and a gun salvo from the Garrison volunteers
There is a full programme of events taking place in our arena during the day, including pupils from Ferndale School who will be singing during the afternoon and Swindon's local Army Cadets who will be doing a marching display. Chippenham Morris Men will be dancing during the day and there will be a martial arts display and fitness displays
There will also be military displays provided by the Garrison Volunteers, the Dorset Regiment Living History Group, the Royal Wessex Yeomanry and cadet groups.
Stalls will be provided by several military charities, the local Nepalese community, local facilities and local welfare support services. The Swindon Morris Minors club and Swindon Town Football in the Community will be there too.
Music will be provided by Swindon 105.5. A wide variety of food, drink and refreshments will be available all day.
So come along, show your support for our Armed Forces, and have some fun along the way.
If you would like to help, there are a variety of ways that you can get involved. The deadline for submitting a participator’s application form is 08th June.
