Ganesh Utsav is being celebrated tomorrow and Sunday - 7 and 8 September - at Swindon Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre.
The centre is at Regent House, above the Chaat Café, in Theatre Square.
Ganesh Utsav is one of the most popular Hindu festivals in India and around the world. Swindon Hindu Temple hosted the festival for the first time in Swindon and Wiltshire in 2016 and this is the eighth year of celebrations.
A spokesperson said: "This is one of the biggest community events in Swindon and we have an exciting programme lined up to bring the vibrant festivities, revelry, exquisite two-foot tall idol of Lord Ganesha, artistic decorations, popular Dhol beats band from London (the biggest such band in Europe) for the procession, traditional worshipping and chanting, cultural performances, delicious vegetarian meal, and lots more.
"Although the festival celebration will be held on two days, Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September at various times, we recommend Saturday 7th Sep between 10:30am and 12:30pm, so you can experience a good mix of religious, cultural, community and social aspects of the festival.
"There will also be a procession with the very traditional Dhol band through the streets in the Town Centre at this time. Alternatively, there will also be celebrations on Sunday 8 September between 5pm and 7pm."
