The Swindon Community Day for Climate and Nature will take place on 31 October at Christ Church in Old Town.
As communities across the country grapple with rising living costs and the realities of a changing climate, local grassroots groups in Swindon are coming together to share how they are addressing these challenges and hear about support and information available.
The event will run from 10am to 5pm, and is billed as a local summit designed to highlight the good work being done and inspire wider engagement, aiming to consider both the immediate and longer term challenges people face together.
Organised by Wiltshire Climate Alliance and Swindon Climate Action Network, and involving local faith networks and Swindon councils and educational establishments, the gathering brings together residents and organisers from communities, schools, businesses, and parishes.
A spokesperson said: "The schedule features interactive talks involving local community groups and experienced leaders, stalls where people can find out more about groups from the organisers, and some practical workshops on topics around energy, food and transport and nature. A plant-rich lunch will be provided."
