£5,000 reward offered after spate of rural burglaries

The crimes happened across Wiltshire, Hampshire and the Thames Valley area during June 2026 and have caused significant financial losses and disruption to local communities.
Between 17 and 19 June, six burglaries were reported across north Wiltshire, targeting four farms, an estate and an agricultural supply centre. Items worth approximately £30,000 were stolen.
A further four burglaries were reported in Hampshire between 19 June and 22 June, with electrical and garden tools worth around £42,000 taken.
The burglaries may be connected, and CCTV from locations across both counties shows people wearing similar clothing, including balaclavas and gloves. Information also suggests the same vehicle may have been used.
Beth Simpson, South West Central Regional Manager for the charity Crimestoppers, said: “These burglaries have had a considerable impact on rural businesses and farming communities who depend on their equipment and tools to carry out their work.
“Someone may know who was responsible, have information about the vehicle involved or have heard conversations following the burglaries. Even what may seem like a small piece of information could be vital.
“We understand that some people can feel uneasy about speaking directly to the police. Crimestoppers is completely independent and guarantees anonymity. Tell us what you know, and we'll pass it on for you.
"We do not ask for your name, we do not trace calls or IP addresses, and no one will know you contacted us."
A silver Audi A6 has also been identified as a vehicle of interest and is believed to have been using false number plates.
Crimestoppers is appealing to anyone who doesn't want to speak to the police but has information about those involved or about where the stolen property may have been taken or stored to contact them 100% anonymously.
Information given could help bring those responsible to justice and prevent further break-ins affecting rural communities.  
Crimestoppers is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They cannot trace calls or track IP addresses. 
With Fearless.org and Crimestoppers-uk.org, computer IP addresses are never traced. Calls to 0800 555 111 are not recorded. 
There is no caller ID (no 1471 facility), meaning callers' phone numbers are invisible.
The reward will only be payable for information passed directly to Crimestoppers and not to the police. 
A reward code must be asked for when calling on 0800 555 111. If a person contacts the charity via its online form anonymously, the ‘Keep in contact’ facility must be used, and a reward code must be requested on initial contact.
