Gorse Hill shooting: man charged with assisting an offender

A man has appeared in court charged with assisting an offender following a shooting in Gorse Hill last month.

On 19 June a man was shot and suffered life-changing injuries.

Eight people were arrested shortly afterw including Peter Bullock, 51, of Queens Drive, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has now been charged with the lesser offence of assisting an offender.

On Tuesday 21 July Bullock appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court. He was released on bail and was due to appear at Swindon Crown Court later today - 23 July.

Two men, Dylan Anthony, 19, and Kyron Anthony, 20, both of Milton Road, are also due to appear at Swindon Crown Court today charged with attempted murder.

Three others arrested in connection with the incident have been released on bail pending further investigation. They are:

- A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and being concerned in the supply of Class C drugs

- A 19-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender

- A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder

A 16-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation have been released with no further action taken.
