Staff at the GWH NHS Foundation Trust say they are thrilled to have recently been awarded a Silver Employer Recognition Scheme Award for work they do with the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Silver Award recognises employers who actively demonstrate support made in their Armed Forces Covenant, and employ at least one member of the Armed Forces Community.
The GWH NHS Foundation Trust team says it is always striving to improve on the work it does to support the Armed Forces Covenant.
A spokesperson added: "Across the Trust, we know of a number of staff who have links to the Armed Forces, whether they are a reservist, volunteer or military spouse."
Kevin McNamara, Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted that we have achieved this recognition for the great work we have done so far to support the Armed Forces community.
“My thanks go to our staff who have worked so hard to secure this recognition. While we are pleased with what we’ve achieved, our aspiration is to secure Gold recognition to reflect our status as an organisation which is doing everything possible to be a truly forces-friendly employer.”
