Ambrose Gardens, the firm says, brings a mix of 62 high quality homes to Croft Road.

The development launched in June of last year and the first family moved in at the start of November - but now only a handful of plots remain.

Among the first residents to settle into their new home was Kelsey Bird, 26, who moved into a two-bedroom Belford house in January with partner Adam Bright, 22, and their dog, Luna.

The first time buyers were both living with their parents in Swindon and were keen to find a place they could call their own.

Kelsey, who works in the construction industry, said: “We had come to the next chapter in our relationship and felt it was time to move into our first home together.

"We chose a new build as we found it easier to get on the property ladder using Help to Buy, and we loved the idea of being the first to live in the home and make our own mark on it before it was even built.”

When Kelsey and Adam started their property search at Ambrose Gardens in March of last year it was their first look at a new build development, and they were impressed with what they saw.

Kelsey said: “Taylor Wimpey was recommended to us through a family friend, and when we looked at the two-bedroom show home we loved the specifications and the options available.

“We knew we didn’t want anything too big for us and we had to keep to our budget, but we loved the fact that the Belford bed offered open plan living, with the kitchen and living room in the same space.

"We also loved the front porch, the downstairs cloakroom and separate utility area for a washing machine and tumble dryer.”

Moving in during lockdown could have been difficult, but the Taylor Wimpey team at Ambrose Gardens were on hand to make things as simple as possible for the young couple.

Kelsey said: “Buying our first home with Taylor Wimpey was so smooth, even through such difficult times. As this is our first home we didn’t know what to expect, but the Taylor Wimpey team were available at every stage to answer any questions we may have had, however silly they seemed.

“Taylor Wimpey has an online portal called Touchpoint where we could look at the different options for flooring, tiles, carpets and so on, which was really helpful.”

Whilst some elements of the normal home-buying process have changed in the past year, the couple still received what they describe as the usual high quality service from Taylor Wimpey.

Kelsey said: “We weren’t able to go and view our property throughout the build due to covid-19, but Taylor Wimpey did what they could do to update us with the build progression, which kept us at ease but also kept up the excitement.

“Our home demonstration should have been face-to-face but instead we watched a short video followed up with a video call with ourselves and the site manager, who answered any questions we had.

“Although we had to collect our keys in a socially-distanced way, the sales team left everything we needed inside the door, including a beautiful hamper, a warranty box and a maintenance kit along with their reassurance of their help if we ever need it.

“We love our new home, our surrounding area and the on-hand help we have from the site manager and the sales team.”

Danielle Heard, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Oxfordshire, said: “It’s fantastic to hear such great feedback from our customers and I’m really pleased with the work the Ambrose Gardens team has done to make Kelsey and Adam’s move as easy as possible despite difficult circumstances.

“Ambrose Gardens has proven hugely popular with buyers in Swindon and we now have just 10 plots left to sell. If you’d like to join this lovely new community, please give our sales team a call.”
