The Link Centre is closed until further notice after last night's storm sent a torrent of water into the plant room.
A spokesperson for GLL, which runs the centre, said: "Last night’s torrential rain has caused significant flooding to Swindon’s Link Centre.
"Flood water overwhelmed the plant room, cutting out the electricity supply to the entire building. There is also water ingress at ground floor level.
"The team is awaiting specialist electrical engineers to attend the site. Once the electricity supply has been made safe, they will then be able to begin pumping water from the building and at that point will be in a better position to assess the damage.
"The Link Centre is therefore closed until further notice and customers are asked to follow the website and social media for updates."
According to Dorset and Fire and Rescue Service, there have been a number of reports of flooding in various parts of Swindon since the downpour, and the service this morning issued a socal media appeal for people not to make unnecessary journeys.
