A 'Teacher Twilight' event was hosted at Museum & Art Swindon to show educators what the venue has to offer.
Since opening, MAS has hosted a number of school visits and helped hundreds of local children engage with Swindon’s history and explore the borough’s collection of modern art.
Cllr Marina Strinkovsky, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Placemaking and Planning, said: “Since the move into the Civic Offices, we’ve had more dedicated space to offer school visits and we want to expand the programme so even more children get to experience our collections.
“It is really important children from across the Borough have the opportunity to be inspired by the history of the town and the amazing artwork we have on display.
“Offering school visits is just one way to do this, but we also hope that the children who come and visit, then go home, speak to their family and get them to be more engaged and interested in what we can offer.”
Museum & Art Swindon is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am to 4.30pm, and is free to enter.
