Great Western Hospital have announced that their maternity notes are going paperless.
From this week, all maternity care for those under the service will be recorded on Badger Notes, an online portal and app providing secure, real-time access to a personalised care plan and maternity information.
A spokesperson said: "Badger Notes is linked to the hospital’s maternity system, ensuring that records are always up-to-date. You can also share what matters most to you in your pregnancy journey directly through the app.
"The Badger Net online portal and app lets you access your maternity records from any internet-enabled device, including PCs, tablets, and mobile phones. The information is updated in real-time, based on details entered by your midwife or healthcare professionals.
"With Badger Notes, you have more access and control over your pregnancy records. It ensures your preferences and choices are clearly recorded for everyone involved in your care."
This change is part of a move to the BadgerNet electronic maternity system, with trusts in Bath and Salisbury set to introduce the system later this year.
