Swindon Borough Council is reminding voters to make sure they have an acceptable form of photo ID before heading for polling stations.
Voters will today elect councillors in each borough council ward apart from Chiseldon and Lawn, together with the Wiltshire and Swindon Police and Crime Commissioner.
A council spokesperson said: "Before you head out to vote, make sure you have your accepted photo ID with you."
A full list of acceptable forms of ID can be found here.
They include:
- A driving licence issued by the UK, any of the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, or an EEA state
A Blue Badge
- A UK passport
- An older person’s bus pass
- A disabled person’s bus pass
- An Identity card bearing the Proof of Age Standards Scheme hologram (a PASS card)
- A biometric immigration document
- A Ministry of Defence form 90 (Defence Identity Card)
- A national identity card issued by an EEA state
- A Voter Authority Certificate
- An Anonymous Elector’s document
