The Health Hydro has received a huge boost thanks to additional funding for the building's regeneration.
Swindon Borough Council have received a £409.000 Development Grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to support necessary planning work which could unlock an additional £4.2m from the fund.
This will fully restore the main pool hall, including work to its roof to improve the building's energy consumption and help reduce its carbon output. This in turn will reduce the overall running costs of the facility.
The grant will also allow for a replacement ventilation system, IT upgrades and conservation works to the brickwork, spectator gallery and the stained glass window.
The work, alongside the ongoing first phase will not only make the main pool fit for use again but also lay the groundwork for future phases of regeneration, including works at the Turkish Baths and the small pool.
