A 41-year-old Swindon man has been banned from driving after admitting being over the drug limit when stopped by police.
Swindon magistrates heard how David Popkiss, of Bourne Road, was stopped by traffic officers in Churchward Avenue shortly after midnight on Wednesday 21 June.
Popkiss, who had passengers - two teenagers and a child - in the car, tested positive for cannabis following a roadside drug wipe, and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates, Popkiss was disqualified from holding a driving licence for three years, ordered to carry out unpaid work for 60 hours and pay a £114 surcharge.
Roads policing officer James Salmond said: “Popkiss was travelling with two teenagers and a child in his car while his driving was impaired by having drugs in his system.
"This is completely unacceptable and places his passengers, himself and other members of the public at risk.”
