Swindon & Wiltshire Pride recruiting for 2021 committee

Applications are open to join Swindon & Wiltshire Pride’s 2021 committee.

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride is a charity run completely by volunteers who dedicate their time and efforts to the LGBTQ+ community of Swindon and Wiltshire, as well as for the main Pride event itself.

Committee members have specific roles and focus. The committee meets fortnightly in order to align their work and commitments, share opinions and talk about new and exciting ideas which they can bring to the community.

Joining the committee is a unique opportunity to develop personally, professionally and to have a big impact on the people of Swindon and Wiltshire. 

Previous committee members have commented on the family aspect of being on the committee, and they have enjoyed not just putting on the main Pride event itself, but also the community outreach work which is done throughout the year.

Jo Sharpe, chair, said “Swindon & Wiltshire Pride is a community event which is organised by volunteers from the community. As a charity, we pride ourselves on giving back; individually through volunteering and by putting on an amazing event each year.

“By joining the committee you can learn and develop skills, and be part of something special, throughout the year.”

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride is committed to equal opportunity, as well as encouraging people from marginalised and minority backgrounds to apply so that they can ensure better representation of all groups of people.

Available roles are Available roles are Operations Manager, Parade Manager, Social Media Manager, Stalls Manager, Website Manager and Charity Trustee.
