The South Swindon Parish Council have started work at the play area on Quarry Road, with hopes that it will be finished this weekend.
The South Swindon Parish Council say work is going as planned and hope that the play area should be fully installed by this weekend (7 - 8 May).
Once finished, the equipment will then be subject to a post-installation inspection.
Earlier this year South Swindon Parish Councillors agreed for the old climbing structure to be removed due to it being beyond repair.
They decided it would be replaced with a brand-new Activity Centre. In addition, a new basket swing is also going to be installed, which will be particularly accessible to children with disabilities.
Since 2017, the Parish Council has undergone a Play Area Improvement programme that has led to 12 of the 21 play areas it manages being refurbished.
The Parish Council have worked to introduce better equipment and make the play areas more accessible to children with disabilities. The new equipment at Quarry Road Play Area is a part of this programme.
