The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is holding a workshop for blind and partially sighted people in the Swindon area to introduce the charity’s Connect community.

Taking place at Broadgreen Community Centre on Thursday 27 June from 1.30pm – 4pm, the event will offer attendees the opportunity to meet and chat with other blind and partially sighted people in Swindon and meet some of the regional RNIB team.

RNIB’s Connect community, which is free to join, enables people with sight loss to meet others with similar experiences and share information, advice and guidance, both face-to-face and online.

Blind and partially sighted people will have the chance to learn more about RNIB’s services including Networks & Connect and feedback on plans for upcoming events and activities.

Steve Weymouth, RNIB Network Manager for the South West of England, said: “This is our first engagement workshop in Swindon and it’s a great opportunity for people to meet up with us and to find out more about the opportunities available from RNIB Connect.

“The day is open to anyone who would like to find out more about our Connect community, what it is and what it can do for Swindon. The Broadgreen Community Centre is easy to access for people with sight loss, so feel free to bring family and friends to discuss and learn how to overcome many of the problems that people with sight loss encounter daily.”

For more information and to sign up, please RSVP by contacting RNIB’s South West England team on 0117 934 1733, 07944 051079 or [email protected]
