The Punjabi Community Centre in Cricklade Road was awash with colour on Sunday as Swindon's Hindu community celebrated Saraswati Puja festival.
Now in its seventh year, the Saraswasti Puja has become one of the highlights of the Swindon cultural calendar
The Sarawasti Puja traditionally marks the start of spring in the Hindu calendar. Holi, the colourful festival of spring, is celebrated 40 days later.
The Puja started at 2.30pm followed by a a gala cultural programme from 5pm including music, dance and food going into the evening.
Puja is widely commemorated with festivals in Bangladesh and Indian and is the most significant socio-cultural event in Bengali society.
