Swindon Borough Council are urging members of the public to ensure they have submitted their meter readings before the end of the month.
Friday 30 September marks the last day the individuals can submit meter readings to make sure they pay the older, cheaper rate for any energy used up until 1 October.
The council say if members of the public are on their supplier’s standard tariff, they should submit their meter readings to avoid paying higher energy costs when the new two-year price cap kicks in.
However, this does not apply to those on pre-payment meters or smart meters.
