Swindon Borough Council starts an estimated six weeks of resurfacing roadworks today.

Monday 8 November marks the start of the resurfacing works, targeting sections of road which are in need of repair at 19 different locations across the Borough.

The council says advance notice signs will be set out informing drivers of the anticipated works and their start dates.

Some works will be completed using overnight road closures, and diversion routes will be set out accordingly to direct drivers around the working area. Councillors ask that people allow additional time for their journeys.

A spokesperson for Swindon Borough Council said: "If you live in these areas, you should receive letters in the coming weeks informing you of the resurfacing in your area. In order for the team to complete these works as efficiently as possible, please do ensure cars are not parked along streets during the working dates as advised by the letters received."

The council have released roadwork plans for the next three weeks:

Week 1 – daytime working at Grove Orchard and Stapleton Close, Highworth, Elmswood Close and Pinnock's Place, Swindon.

Week 2 -  daytime working at Addison Crescent, Upper Stratton, the A346, Marlborough Road between The Ridgeway and New Road and South of The Ridgeway and Carisbrooke Terrace, Chiseldon. Overnight working at, Highworth Road, Redlands Area, and Vickers Roundabout, Swindon.

Week 3 - daytime working at Marlborough Road, Plough Hill. Overnight working at Queens Drive Junction with Frobishers Drive, Faraday Rd and New Inn Roundabout, Swindon Rd, Swindon.
