Residents from five Swindon care homes came together to mark the end of a project aimed at improving their mobility, balance and wellbeing.

The Senior Games celebration saw them take part in competitive games, including target mat throwing, foam javelin throwing, tin-can alley and golf putting.

It also included a Hokey Cokey warm-up which can be viewed on the Swindon Borough Council Facebook page.

During the 12-week programme, qualified instructors visited more than 100 residents, in nine residential settings across Swindon, to deliver chair-based exercises to classic songs.

The aim was to help participants improve their ability to undertake daily living activities and improve their balance and cognitive function.
