An online Mindfulness course is to be hosted by the community centre at Christ Church in Old Town.
It is described as a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy Course (MBCT), which is evidence-based and well-researched.
The course is also billed as effective in alleviating anxiety, depression, stress and chronic pain, and enhancing mental and physical wellbeing.
It will be delivered online over eight Thursday evenings starting on April 29, with the first session running from 7pm to 9.30pm and the rest from 7pm to 9pm.
There will also be a 10am to 1pm session on 12 June.
The course will be led by Susie Stead, a freelance Mindfulness teacher based in Oxford.
She was trained and assessed at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre (OMC) and is an OMC partner, as well as being registered with the British Association for Mindfulness-Based Approaches (BAMBA).
The subsidised cost of the course is £110, and further details and application forms are available from community centre development manager Chris Smith on 07582 305760 and at [email protected]
