Community group Vision 4 Wroughton (V4W) held a New Year's Day walk to help support their own running costs and Wroughton Girlguiding.

V4W says its Wroughton New Year's Day walk has been an annual event for several years now with the exception of 2020 due to covid-19.

Each year, the walk follows a short route (approximately 45 minutes to an hour) around the village of Wroughton.

To add another element of fun to the walk, there is a quiz to play along the way with 15 questions on a seasonal theme. A small prize is then awarded for the team with the most correct answers.

Vision 4 Wroughton's Beverley Margerison said: "This year we saw another enjoyable New Year's Walk. We were lucky that the rain, which was quite heavy in the morning, had cleared up by the afternoon!"

In recent years, refreshments have been provided by Wroughton Girlguiding in Trefoil House on the Weir Field, where the walk starts and finishes.

The money raised is then split between V4W and Wroughton Girlguiding to help with the running costs of both organisations.
