The Worst Princess
Young audiences will be spoilt for choice with fun-filled performances of the very best children’s shows from leading theatre companies.
Come on an enchanting adventure in Northern Ballet’s brand-new children’s ballet, Hansel & Gretel. In this reimagined classic, Hansel and Gretel take a walk through the woods, unaware of the damage they leave behind. But when they get lost, they meet a host of spirited friends who teach them how we can all better look after the planet - and have some fun along the way!
Hansel & Gretel takes place on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 March, on the main stage. Age guideline: 3+
Based on the book by Anna Kemp and Sara Ogilvie, The Worst Princess will take to the stage on Thursday 17 to Saturday 19 April.
A delightful dragon-tastic show for pop princesses and naughty knights. Feisty Sue is not your everyday fairy tale superstar, in fact she’s The Worst Princess. After being rescued by her twit of a prince she’s ready to start her happy end. But first she’ll have to make friends with a dragon, escape from a tower and set the Prince’s pants on fire with her new fire-breathing bestie. Will Sue find her happily ever after?
Age guideline: 3+
Round the corner from Oxford Playhouse is Oxford’s smallest and coolest place to see fringe theatre. The Burton Taylor Studio sees two fabulous family productions this season, aimed at younger audiences aged 3 and over.
Garlic Theatre, an award-winning theatre company known for its eccentric performances and refined puppetry, will tell the tale of the Three Little Pig Tails. Following three little pigs in Paris, a grumpy old wolf is a chef who wants some pigs' tails for his soup. Will the little pigs outwit the wolf and what kind of house will they build?
3 Little Pig Tails will perform on Saturday 12 April at 11am, 1pm & 3pm.
The award-winning Indefinite Articles present their work for the very young: Claytime, a play with clay, where the audience are invited to participate.
Each Claytime is totally unique - creating its own world, its own characters and its own stories drawn directly from its young audience. Truly, interactive theatre at its most engaging.
Claytime takes place on Saturday 19 April at 11am, 2pm & 4.30pm.
