Police hunt arsonists after Bridge Street blaze

Police are appealing for information following an incident of arson which occurred in Bridge Street, Swindon.

Between approximately 5.30pm and 6.10pm on 30 April 2017, offenders started a fire through an open window of a ground floor flat, causing the curtains to catch fire.

Damage was caused to the inside of the property as a result, with extensive smoke damage throughout the flat.

PC Jack Newman, of Community Policing Team Swindon North, said: "The occupant of the flat was not in at the time of the incident and nobody was injured, however we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious behaviour in the area around this time.

"A thorough investigation has been carried out including house to house enquiries.

"Anyone with information should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
