Thursdays will be the best day of week for Swindon children this summer when a string of popular children’s characters visit the town centre.
The well-known names, which include Poppy Cat and Peppa Pig, will be in The Brunel shopping centre on Thursdays throughout the school holidays. The free to attend visits will include story time sessions and other fun activities.
The Brunel Centre has arranged this schedule of free entertainment to help customers amuse the children this summer.
Jane Stewart, Marketing Manager at The Brunel said: “Children often get bored during shopping trips so we’ve put together these visits to help keep the children amused whilst they are out shopping.
"The characters will be based in our magical garden so will be really easy to find. Visits are completely free and we hope that customers will come along each week to see the different characters and have some fun.”

31st July – Peppa Pig & George story time sessions
7th August – Postman Pat® & Jess the Cat story time sessions
14th August – Mike the Knight & Evie story time sessions
21st August – Poppy Cat’s Copy Poppy activity
28th August – Captain Barnacles & Kwazii from the Octonauts story time sessions
The Brunel’s magical garden will be situated on the ground floor of The Brunel Arcade, near to Cargo Homestore and Sue Ryder. Characters will appear at intervals between 11am and 3.30pm. All visits are completely free of charge.
