People of all ages are invited to get moving as Wroughton and Wichelstowe Parish Council has proudly unveiled a brand new outdoor gym.
The new gym equipment, purchased by the parish council and located on the Weir Field in Wroughton, features a range of modern exercise equipment designed to help people stay fit and healthy.
The gym is completely free to use and will be open all year round.
Cllr Diane Archer, Vice Chair of Wroughton and Wichelstowe Parish Council, said: “I am absolutely delighted to declare this new outdoor gym officially open.
“The gym is a fun and enjoyable space that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get active, improve their fitness and enjoy the Weir Field in a whole new way.

The gym equipment includes a resistance cross trainer, monkey bars and a calisthenics circuit. It will mean that people in Wroughton and Wichelstowe can keep fit while enjoying the fresh air – especially over the summer.
The gym was funded through the Community Infrastructure Levy, a charge paid by developers to provide infrastructure for facilities and services.
It forms part of the parish council’s ongoing commitment to improving local amenities, supporting healthy lifestyles and creating welcoming community spaces for everyone.
The gym was officially opened by representatives from the parish council on Thursday 28 May at 11.30am.
The parish council is encouraging local residents to come down to the Weir Field and give it a go.
