On Thursday 4 May, parish council elections will be taking place across Swindon and we're giving each candidate an equal chance to have their say.

The list of candidates are now in and you can read them here
At Swindon Link we realise that a lot of candidates will not have the funds to be able to carry out a comprehensive election campaign so we're giving each candidate an opportunity to let the people know why they should be elected.
Each candidate should send us a maximum of 250 words telling us why they should be chosen and a high-res picture of themselves to [email protected] by 5pm on 18 April. We will not publish any submissions after that time and please put 'Parish Council' in the subject bar.
Please make sure that you check through your submission as we will be publishing it verbatim and cutting it off at exactly 250 words. The editor retains the right to not publish any material considered to be offensive or defamatory.
If you know of any candidates please make sure they are made aware of this platform that we are giving them.
Each candidate will be placed in alphabetical order as per the borough council's own specified order. If nothing is submitted we will just publish the name and information provided by the borough council.
On Monday 24 April we will publish the candidates' details and their 250 words for St Andrews Parish Council and Blunsdon Parish Council.
On Tuesday 25 April we will publish the candidates' details and their 250 words for Central Swindon North Parish Council.
On Wednesday 26 April we will publish the candidates' details and their 250 words for Central Swindon South Parish Council.
On Thursday 27 April we will publish the candidates' details and their 250 words for Nythe, Eldene and Liden Parish Council.
On Friday 28 April we will publish the candidates' details and their 250 words for West Swindon Parish Council.
Please share this on social media so that we can reach as many of the candidates as possible. We will not be contacting individual candidates as we want to avoid any accusations of bias so please pass this onto candidates if you know them.
If you have any questions please email [email protected]
