Swindon rocked by new craze as decorated treasures spring up all over the town

Mysterious decorated rocks have been cropping up all over Swindon, from the Town Gardens in Old Town to the hedgerows of Peatmoor.

And the new craze even has its own proliferation of Facebook groups where treasure hunters can post pictures of the rocks they find and have re-hidden. It seems that the idea may have been inspired by similar initiatives in America and has rapidly gained traction here in Swindon. Anyone spotting a rock is asked to take a photograph of it and post it to one of the many sites, letting the community know where it was found. Finders get to keep the rocks or leave it elsewhere for someone else to discover.
