Thamesdown has announced it is to become an Ambassador for the ‘Switch on to Swindon’ campaign.

The local operator’s buses have been a recognisable sight in Swindon for many years, and its team is keen to promote all that is great about the town.
“Since acquiring Thamesdown earlier this year, the Go Ahead Group has been clear we should retain our local identity,” said Thamesdown general manager Alex Chutter.
“Becoming an Ambassador of Switch on to Swindon is an official way to say that we are proud to serve this community, and we will do all that we can to highlight its qualities, and at the same time support those who live and work here.”
Switch on to Swindon is designed to underline the strengths of the town as a great place in which to live, work, invest and visit. Celebrating the area’s hidden gems, symbols of change and keynote developments, the campaign plays an important role in enhancing Swindon’s reputation.
“We’re delighted to be part of this important network. Our entire team is already sporting special badges to show our support – and we look forward to some successful initiatives in the future.”
Switch on to Swindon board chair Jenny Groves added: “I’m delighted to see Swindon’s bus company, Thamesdown, join our growing ambassador network. Promoting Swindon is in everyone’s interests, and this support from one of our most visible companies will make a huge contribution to the success of Switch on to Swindon.”
