Retro event organisers Short Circuit are bringing RetroFest - described as ‘a celebration of retro computers’ - back to Swindon’s STEAM Museum at the end of May.
This year the event will be bigger than ever, with over 50 exhibitors and many famous faces from Youtube’s retro community. There’ll be 100s of computers from the 70s, 80s and 90s, along with their enthusiastic owners to tell you all about them. Expect everything from ZX Spectrums and BBC Micros to homemade kits, giant workstations and unusual machines from Eastern Europe.
Short Circuit owner, Tony Jewell, said: "After the wonderful warm welcome that Swindon gave our event last year, we're coming back again! Swindon has a long history of bringing vintage computers to a wider audience as it’s home to the Museum of Computing, the first computer museum in the UK.
“STEAM is also a fantastic venue that offers us plenty of room to grow the event - plus we have to admit there’s quite an overlap between steam train enthusiasts and fans of vintage computers.”
The event takes place on the 30 and 31 May at STEAM in Swindon.
Admission is £10. Tickets can be purchased here - https://www.retrofest.uk/tickets.php
